This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
I've received quite a number of private messages asking for more information about me and my work. A general reply seems like a good idea since many people have asked similar questions. Although I don't expect to keep an active Journal here, I'm happy to provide occasional updates.
I'm a writer and artist. In the last few years Ive concentrated on portraits, primarily of children, and figure studies. As a parent and as a realist-style painter, Im concerned about the misuse of children's images on the Internet. That's why I do not post copies of children's portraits, other than the two you can see here.
Some of my figures have been featured on other art sites. If you've seen my work elsewhere and would like to discuss it or inquire about commissioning a piece, please contact me through the original site.
While I do sell giclée prints of most of my work, none of the examples here at deviantArt are available for purchase.
A number of people have asked about my approach to the nude. All I can say is that we paint what we see. The nude is first of all a portrait of the artist's vision. Much has been written about the nude in art, and about differences in the way that male and female artists portray the nude. I draw and paint the nude because bodies, and the way that light travels over them, interest me. It also intrigues me that realism requires distance from the subject, yet the closer one gets to a subject, the more it appears to change. Angles, curves and forms seem to communicate differently until what is realistic may appear to be abstract.
